The Indoor Bouldering Series is baaaaaack! Those of you who have attended over the last five or so years know what to expect: mischeif, mayhem, music and a whole lotta bouldering. CircoArts have once again provided us with their half-metre thick crash mats so we will be taking the bouldering area right out to the main wall for a bit of highball action.
These events are all about having a go, grades range from 12 to V12 so even if you have never climbed before you can get into it. Entry is a paltry $10 which includes a free hot drink from Off-The-Wall cafe, plus of course the chance to win awesome spot prizes from Tools of the Adventure, Mountain Designs, and Uprising!
Round 1: September 26th: Retro Bouldering
To kick off the series we will be taking it back to the bad ol' days of bouldering (with the notable exception of still using crash mats). So dig into those packed-up boxes for what you (or your parents) wore on their 20th Century Castle Hill missions - be it the 80s 70s 60s or beyond. Major spot prizes for the best dressed retro boulderers.
Round 2: October 10th: The Rematch
This year we will be introducing U18 and U16 categories for the events, as well as series champs overall. If you are more in it for a good time and don't care about the score, just remember that the second round usually has a few less people come but the most spot prizes. You do the math.
Round 3: October 31st: The Roxx Halloween Party
Imagine the madness of an IBS evening mixed with Halloween. It would be a shame to ruin the surprise... let's just say that this will be the craziest bouldering event in the History of the Universe.
